The Story of Chutilal – The Kind but Innocent Man

In a small, peaceful village nestled between lush green fields and rolling hills lived a man named Chutilal. He was known for his kind heart and generous nature. If anyone in the village needed help, Chutilal was always the first to step forward. But there was one problem—Chutilal was too innocent, and people often took advantage of his kindness.

One morning, as Chutilal walked through the village, he met a mischievous shopkeeper named Bhola.

“Chutilal, my friend!” Bhola called out. “I need your help. My cow has run away, and I’m too busy at my shop. Can you find her for me?”

Always ready to help, Chutilal agreed without hesitation. He searched the fields, the riverbanks, and even the dense forest. After hours of wandering, he finally found the cow grazing near a mango tree. He brought it back, exhausted but happy.

Bhola laughed and said, “Oh, I was just joking! The cow was here all along. But thanks for the effort!”

Chutilal, despite being tired, simply smiled and walked away.

Days passed, and many villagers played tricks on him. They sent him on false errands, made him do unnecessary chores, and sometimes borrowed things from him without returning them. Yet, Chutilal never complained.

Because of this, whenever anyone in the village got fooled, people would say, “You are such a Chutilal!”

Slowly, the name “Chutilal” became a common term. It spread from village to village, from cities to the entire country, until it became a well-known way to describe someone who was too innocent and easily tricked.
